Tomorrowland’s Skyline Lounge Experience in Disneyland

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Looking for a fun experience at Disneyland? Maybe you want to be pampered, have a reserved spot for Disneyland’s Fireworks, or just take in a new experience. Today I am sharing all about the Skyline Lounge at Disneyland and whether or not it is worth the cost.

Disneyland’s Skyline Lounge Experience

The Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience takes place in Disneyland Park on select nights, at the Star Wars Launch Bay.

The experience includes dessert, unlimited soda, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and water. You are assigned a table and either high top chairs or a sofa. Guests that participate in this experience can expect to play games, and they may be able to meet characters, as well as view the fireworks (weather permitting).

Let’s start with all the info about the Skyline Lounge and then I will get in to our experiences and if I think the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience is worth the cost.

What is the cost of the Skyline Lounge?

The cost is $50/person ages 3 and up. Children ages 2 and under are free.

There is no Annual Passholder Discount.

Separate Park Admission is required.

Skyline Lounge in Disneyland Reservations

Reservations are required for the Skyline Lounge in Disneyland. You can make reservations by phone or on the Disneyland website.

How Does The Skyline Lounge Work?

Guests will check in at the Skyline Lounge starting around 7:30 at the ramp entrance near Alien Pizza Planet.

At this time you are given a wristband, collectable badge, and will be assigned your table. If you want your pick of the tables you will want to be one of the first in line (we were in the area around 7:00 and actually standing in line at 7:15).

You will pay when you check in, and after receiving your wristband and badge, you will get to choose your table assignment. Note: some seating types are only available for specific party sizes.

After you check in you can go enjoy the parks. You will not have access to the lounge until 8:00 pm. Your access to the lounge will end at 10:00 pm.

Can I Come and Go From The Lounge?

If you have a Fastpass or want to go get dinner and bring it back in, you are more than welcome to do so. Your Skyline Lounge wristband allows you in and out privileges. But be careful how much you come and go… more on that in a moment.

What Can I Expect In The Skyline Lounge?

In the Skyline Lounge Experience at Disneyland you can expect a place to sit back, relax, and even have a little pampering.

You will start by picking up your dessert box. I have done this experience twice this year. Once in March and once during the Holidays. Each time our box had grapes, and various sweets, but the treats varied. In November they were holiday themed.

You will also be able to grab soda, water, hot cocoa, tea, or coffee at this point. This is unlimited for the night, so fill free to go set down your dessert boxes and come back for this.

Your table will include a tent with your table number on it. This tent also has a battery pack and USB ports so you may charge devices. If you forgot your cord, you can ask for one from a Cast Member but do so early. In November they ran out of cords.

Cast Members are happy to get you blankets to use while you are up there as well.

A Cast Member (for us it has been Ryan both times) will come and play games, ask you Disney Trivia, and even have some prizes.

While not guaranteed, you will normally get to meet at least one Disney Character in the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience. In March we met Minnie in her celebration outfit.

In November we were able to meet Goofy in his Christmas sweater. Such a great way to kick off the Holidays.

If fireworks are scheduled, and weather is permitting, you will be able to view the fireworks from your seat.

IMPORTANT SKYLINE LOUNGE INFO: If fireworks are cancelled there are no refunds.

They will turn down the lights and play the music for the fireworks in the Skyline Lounge. The view is pretty great but you will not be able to see projections on the castle.

New Year’s Eve Enchantment

Want to ring in 2020 at Skyline Lounge? Disneyland has announced a special experience at the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience for December 31, 2019. This New Year’s Eve Experience is a little different than the regular Skyline Lounge Experience.

New Year’s Eve at Skyline Lounge

The New Year’s Eve Enchantment experience will have extended hours. Guests will have access to Skyline Lounge from 8:00 pm to 12:30 am.

With the extended hours, there is also a price increase for this event of $100 per guest. There is no charge for guests under age 3. There is no Annual Passholder discounts and separate park admission is required.

In addition to the regular offerings of Skyline Lounge, guests will receive a special light-up credential and at midnight, will be able to toast a non-alcoholic beverage that is made even more magical with glow cubes.

Advanced reservations are highly recommended and Disneyland is suggesting guests plan on arriving in the parks early that day to guarantee entry. I suggest calling to make reservations for the New Year’s Eve Experience. This is sure to fill up quickly.

Is Disneyland’s Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Worth The Cost?

You guys know that I find it hard to splurge on Disney extras. I love a good Character Dining Experience, but beyond that, I usually try to avoid splurges at Disneyland.

So it might surprise you that I think the Skyline Lounge is totally worth it… if you will utilize it to the full potential.

When we went in March, the Fireworks were cancelled due to winds. We still felt the experience was worth it. Being pampered, eating yummy food, and being able to people watch and look out on Disneyland was amazing.

The group next to us though… they had reserved it specifically for the fireworks. They had checked in, gotten their dessert boxes and left. Returning a few moments before the fireworks to learn they were cancelled… so of course they were disappointed.

The Skyline Lounge is worth the cost if you will use it. It is not worth it if you are simply using it as a reserved viewing area for the fireworks.

Will I Do The Skyline Lounge Again?

You might be wondering if I will do the Skyline Lounge Experience again. Probably. In fact, the last two times I did it with friends, but I really think I will do it with my family our next trip. The cost is comparable to the Character Dining options at the hotels, and I feel like it would be a great experience for my family.
