Disneyland Resort’s 2020 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival runs February 28, 2020 to April 21, 2020. During this time you can taste your way through delicious California inspired cuisine, beverages, and enjoy culinary seminars, entertainment and more. This is your complete guide to Disneyland’s Food and Wine Festival.

Confession time: I am not a foodie.

There I said it. Everyone else always talks about all the foods they want to try when they go to Disneyland and I am over here nodding my head like “uh-huh, yeah.”

Don’t get me wrong, Disneyland has some delicious food, but I am just not someone who focuses on food when I visit the parks (or anywhere). So it might seem weird that one of my favorite times to visit Disneyland is during the California Adventure Food and Wine Festival each spring.

I love it though!

There are so many cool offerings, that foodies and non-foodies a like will love this annual festival. So sit back as I tell you all about Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival and what there is to do, even if you aren’t big on food.

In previous years, this arch way let you know you were entering the Food & Wine area. In 2020, the festivities are located through out the park, with most activities in Hollywood Land and Paradise Garden.

Also, while I am not a foodie, my husband is, so going this time of year makes him extremely happy.

All About Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival at Disneyland

So what exactly is Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival at Disneyland? It is a celebration of cuisine, drinks, and entertainment inspired by California. From the agriculture, to the culture of the state, they cover it all.

The festival is based in California Adventure Park, specifically along the walkway of Paradise Gardens Park. But there are special offerings through out the entire park for the festival.

When is Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival in California Adventure?

Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival takes place each year in the spring. In 2020, the festival takes place from February 28 – April 21, 2020.

This means if you are heading to Disneyland for Spring Break, you will be able to enjoy Disneyland’s Food and Wine festival at California Adventure.

Disneyland’s Food and Wine Festival Basics

For the most part, Disneyland’s Food and Wine Festival in California Adventure Park consists of kiosks or carts throughout Paradise Garden Park where you can purchase different foods and drinks based on a theme. One cart may feature fruit based foods, and another might feature spicy foods.

The 2020 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Market Place Kiosks Are:

  • Nuts About Cheese
  • Uncork California
  • Golden Dreams
  • California Craft Brews
  • One in a Melon (this replaces the Citrus cart from past years)
  • Peppers Cali-Ente
  • LA Style
  • Avocado Time
  • Off the Cob
  • I <3 Artichokes
  • Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo
  • Berry Patch
  • Garlic Kissed

Along with these kiosks, many of the restaurants in Disney California Adventure also have limited time items specifically for the festival, such as Paradise Garden Grill.

TIP: You can order food from any kiosk in one line, then take your receipt to the appropriate cart and pick up the items.

There are sometimes extra food offerings through out the rest of California Adventure during this time as well.

When you are checking out some of the kiosks, take note of the new marquee’s for this year’s festival. They really help tell the story of each kiosk. Storytelling is a huge part of the Disney legacy, so I love that this has been implemented in this year’s event.

Disneyland’s Food and Wine Sip and Savor Pass

So, while I am not a foodie, I still do eat. And I am married to a foodie. So one of the best investments to make at Disney’s California Adventure Food and Wine Festival is the Sip and Savor Pass.

The Sip and Savor pass used to only be available for Disneyland Annual Passholders, but now is available to everyone. It is $56 for the general public and $51 for Annual Passholders.

The pass includes 8 coupons to be redeemed for food or non-alcoholic beverages. This can be an amazing value if you be sure that each item you redeem it for is at least 1/8 the price you paid for the pass.

TIP: Do not tear off the coupons until you are at the register paying, or they are voided.

Where you can buy the Sip and Savor Pass for Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival:

  • Studio Store (Hollywood Land)
  • Elias & Co.
  • Festival Welcome Center (tends to have the longest lines)
  • Festival Gifts
  • Festival Merchandise Carts
  • Festival Marketplaces
  • Kingswell Camera Shop
  • Rushin’ River Outfitters
  • Seaside Souvenirs

Purchasing a Sip and Savor is a great way to explore the many options at Food and Wine Festival. It is also great if you have teens that you may give a free day to at the park, you can buy them a Sip and Savor and let them use that to eat that day. No cash or card needed on their part.

Disney’s California Adventure Food and Wine Festival For the Non-Foodie

So if you are like me, and while you think the food is great, it may not get you overly excited, don’t worry, there are still plenty of fun activities and entertainment to be found that is specific to Disneyland’s annual Food and Wine Festival.

Entertainment During Disney California Food and Wine Festival

One of my favorite parts of Food and Wine Festival at California Adventure is the live entertainment. From bands that play on the stage near the water at Paradise Gardens Park, to shows that let your little ones bake  with Goofy, there is something for everyone.

In 2020, Disney has cut back on the amount of tickets (aka: extra charge) events during Food and Wine Festival so that families can enjoy the festival together. I love the focus on family this year.

FREE Entertainment Options

The following entertainment options are all free during the Food and Wine Festival and open to families.

Jr Chef, Fri – Sun afternoon (check park schedule)

If you are hitting up Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival with Kids, this is the show for you!

Kids ages 3 – 11 get to learn how to bake from Chef Goofy. They are able to mix all the ingredients together and place them in a magic oven. In the end each child receives a wrapped cookie. If you want to participate, check the show times and head to Hollywood Land to sign your child up. I suggest getting there about 30 minutes before the show to make sure you secure a spot.

Culinary Demonstrations, Sat – Sun 5:30 pm

One of my goals for this year is to learn some new dishes and just how to cook better. That is why I am excited at select times Friday – Sunday, you can catch culinary demonstrations by amazing chefs in the Hollywood Land backlot. Learn a few tips and maybe a new dish to try out at home.

Family Time, Fri – Sun 3:15 pm

Chef Daniella Malfitano and select audience members put on an interactive cooking demonstration and talk about making healthy choices as a family. The demonstration is complete with dance breaks and more.

Discover California, Sat – Sun 4:30 pm

Learn about where the food you eat comes from. Meet farmers, ranchers and growers and take in a mini cooking demonstration.

Jammin’ Chefs

This was seriously my favorite entertainment in 2019 and I really hope it returns in 2020. Jammin’ Chefs features Chip and Dale and their culinary friends, rocking out and making music while cooking up a beat. This show takes place in Paradise Garden Park, near the entrance to Pacific Wharf and Pixar Pier. Be sure to check show times.
