Are you heading to Disneyland but want to make sure you have a hotel with a great pool? We have the best hotel pools near Disneyland and some of these are AMAZING! Whether it is a mid-day break or taking a full day to enjoy the pool, you want a pool area that is clean, the water is a great temperature, and has plenty of room for you to relax.
I personally have stayed at over 2 dozen Anaheim hotels and toured several more. I always love seeing what the pool area is like because my family loves to spend time at the pool.
Whether you are looking for a hotel that fits large families, or a budget option, you can still have a great hotel pool near Disneyland.
Best Hotel Pools Near Disneyland
If you are going to Disneyland in the summer, or any time when the weather is above 70, a good hotel pool may be at the top of your must-haves list. Here are the hotels with the best pools that are within a mile of Disneyland Resort.
Planning to visit Disneyland in 2024?
Disneyland has released its calendar for celebrations and seasons.
The Anaheim Hotel – Best Pool At A Budget Walking Distance Hotel
The Anaheim Hotel is a short 5-7 minute walk to the gates. This hotel has updated rooms, the Pizza Press connected to the lobby and… an Olympic size swimming pool.
The Olympic size pool means you won’t be overcrowded. During peak seasons they often have live music as well. Poolside service is available during specific hours, giving this budget hotel an upscale feel.
This hotel is best for families on a budget that still want a great pool and close proximity to the parks.
SunCoast Park Hotel – Best Pool with a Fireworks View (And Walking Distance)
The SunCoast is one of my go-to hotels. With its beach theme, gorgeous rooms, FREE washers and dryers, PLUS when you book via my partners at Get Away Today, you get FREE PARKING (a $24/night savings) and no resort fee (a $17/day savings). The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk to the park gates.
The pool is a large, zero-entry pool. It is heated and has always been a great temperature for me. The pool maxes out at 3 1/2 or 4 feet in depth, which may be a pro or con depending on your preferences. A hot tub is located in the pool area.
One thing I love about this pool area is the amazing view it has of the fireworks at Disneyland. Most pools in the area have buildings blocking the view, but this one does not.
Howard Johnson Anaheim – Best Walking Distance Hotel with Two Pool/Water areas
The Howard Johnson Anaheim is a big hit with a lot of families. The hotel has been partially renovated, and both buildings one and two are completely redone. (These are marked as “Deluxe” rooms and will have 2 queen beds.) The hotel is a short 7-10 minute walk to the park gates.
What makes this hotel unique is it has two different pool/water areas. The first, traditional pool – The Garden Pool – is large and surrounded by lush greenery. It is located by building two.
The second area is the Castaway Cove Water Playground. This area is closer to the lobby and features a wading pool, splash pad, water play equipment with a couple of small slides, a dump bucket, and a hot tub.
Both of these areas currently utilize a reservation system. You can make one reservation for each area per day. This helps keep crowds low and gives them a chance to clean and sanitize between groups. Reservations may be made 30 days in advance.
If you want a second reservation for an area, you can check 30 minutes into the reservation time. At that time, no-shows will be canceled, and walk-ups may be welcomed.
The Cambria – Best Hotel Pool with Family Suites
If you are looking for a hotel that has family suites with a separate living area, free breakfast, and a fun pool area, Cambria may be for you.
The hotel is too far to walk to Disneyland but can be serviced using ART’s On Demand services. In a pinch, you can also take a 7-10 minute walk to hop on the shuttles at the Toy Story Lot for free.
This hotel has a waterpark… but I will be honest, it is mostly splash pads and 2 large slides. The pool and hot tub are quite large though, and there is a wading pool.
What I love about this pool area is that there is plenty of space to spread out. There is poolside service from the bar, BBQ grills available to use, and a putting green.
On select nights they show movies at the pool for guests to enjoy.
One catch with this hotel is normally only suites offer pool/waterpark access. However, if you book via Get Away Today all rooms have waterpark access at this time (please verify upon booking).
Disneyland Hotel – Best On-Site Hotel Pool
The Disneyland Hotel honestly has the best pool of the three onsite properties. With multiple pools and hot tubs, it has the largest pools (we never felt crowded) and… Monorail Slides and splash area.
This hotel also offers free life jackets for guests to use.
The water is a comfortable temperature, even in December when it is only 60 degrees out (at least for this Idaho family).
There are cabanas that are available to rent for a full or half-day.
Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance – Best Hotel Pool & Waterpark on Harbor
If you follow me on Instagram you probably already know that this is my absolute FAVORITE Disneyland area hotel. You can read my full review of this hotel to get information about the property and rooms.
This hotel features a full waterpark. And it is probably the best waterpark in the area for a hotel (save Great Wolf Lodge – but that is a different type of vacation).
The Surfside Waterpark at Courtyard features 2 large slides, with a 40 inch height requirement.
4 smaller slides, a play area, splash pad, dump bucket, and more will keep kids entertained.
There is a 3 1/2 foot pool and a 17-person hot tub.
I think my only complaint is I wish the pool was a bit bigger, but I have never felt overcrowded in it.
This hotel utilizes a reservation system to manage crowds at the waterpark and to make sure they have time to clean and sanitize throughout the day. You can make reservations 30 days in advance online, or on the same day by contacting the front desk.
How To Book Disneyland Hotels With the Best Pools
One thing I love about all of these hotels is that they can be booked via my partners at Get Away Today. Booking through them will unlock free nights, discounted parking, or other specials that they may have negotiated with these hotels.
You can also book them in a package with their discounted park tickets to save even more.
Remember that if you book a hotel stay of 2 nights or more use code ThisCrazy10 to save an extra $10 on your stay.
