What S Harbor Blvd Hotels Are Included?

We are including a couple of hotels that are not on Harbor Blvd, but are just as close in our opinion. After all, we love all of the Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotels.

Best Hotels On S Harbor Blvd: Across The Street From Disneyland

I love the Harbor Blvd Hotels. You can’t beat having a hotel across the street from Disneyland. Between being able to walk to the parks, having views of Disneyland’s fireworks, and amazing amenities, these hotels have a lot to offer. There are hotels for guests with varying budgets and needs.

One thing I like to point out is that most of these hotels are closer to the gates than the Disney-owned properties (save the Grand Californian). Both the Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier (soon to be Pixar Play) require a walk through Downtown Disney to get to the park gates, which can take 10-15 minutes depending on crowds.

*Note – all hotels on this list offer free wifi

Without further ado… Let’s get down to it.

Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel & Water Playground

The Howard Johnson Anaheim, lovingly referred to as the HoJo, is the property furthest north on this list, and right before the I-5 Freeway. Don’t let that make you question this property as it is one of my favorite Anaheim Hotels within walking distance to Disneyland.

Howard Johnson hotel on harbor blvd across the street from Disneyland

Hotel Overview

The property is perfect for families who want a close hotel with great in-room and pool amenities. Building 1 and 2 of this hotel have been fully renovated, and offer deluxe queen beds (some rooms have bunk beds and 1 queen), including some suite options.

The other buildings are still waiting for renovation, but offer a great budget option for those still wanting to stay at this hotel for the proximity to the Disneyland Resort and the great pool and water playground amenities.

Walking Distance To Park:

Howard Johnson Anaheim is a quick 10-minute walk to the park, possibly 12 if you are walking with little kids.

In-Room Amenities:

The guest rooms at Howard Johnson Anaheim have a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. All renovated rooms have a seating and table option. In some rooms it is a bench with a table, in others, it is a round table with chairs.

Picture of a renovated room at Howard Johnson Anaheim in BUilding 2, hotel across the street from Disneyland on Harbor Blvd

The rooms also offer Smart TVs so you can stream your favorite shows on select streaming services.

Property Amenities:

The hotel has plenty of great amenities, including Castaway Cay, their Water Playground which includes a wading pool, splash pad, slides, and a hot tub.

They have a separate Garden Pool, that is quite large with ample seating.

Personally, I love that the pool is separated from the water playground so that it is more relaxing.

The hotel also has a large gift shop/marketplace located in Building 1 near the lobby.

Things To Know About This Hotel:

This hotel has multiple buildings, some of which are close to the freeway. At this time, only building 1 & 2 have elevators. The other buildings are only 2 stories high, but no elevators are available.

The hotel charges for parking (check current rates when booking).

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is a great fit for families who want a water playground and have younger kids who may not be ready for the full waterpark at our next hotel.

It is also great for those who love the mid-century modern aesthetic and comfortable beds in the renovated rooms.

This is honestly my second go-to hotel on Harbor Blvd. I really enjoy it.

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance

The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is by far my favorite hotel on S Harbor Blvd. For full disclosure, I do have a working relationship with this hotel, but it has been my favorite for years before that relationship began.

The Courtyard is located just south of Howard Johnson on Harbor Blvd. The two properties are separated by a small side street (S Manchester). The Courtyard is one of the most sought-after properties by families looking for a higher-end hotel, but aren’t ready to spend the big bucks to stay at the Grand Californian.

Anaheim Courtyard Theme Park Entrance on harbor blvd across from Disneyland

Again, this hotel is my favorite place to stay, as well as my kids. Even above the Disneyland Hotel.

Hotel Overview

I have done a full review on the Courtyard before, but to get a general idea about why this hotel is my favorite…

This property is great for families. The standard guest rooms at this hotel sleep 6, with 2 queen beds and twin bunk beds in each room. The hotel has a plethora of amenities to offer and is part of the Marriott family.

The biggest draw to this hotel for many, besides proximity, is the waterpark, which we will cover in the amenities section.

Some rooms boast views of the parks and fireworks.

Walking Distance To Park:

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is a short 7-10 minute walk from the hotel to the park gates. I personally have done the walk in 5 minutes when I do not have kids with me.

In-Room Amenities:

In addition to the standard rooms sleeping 6, the hotel also offers TWO full-size showers in the rooms (ADA rooms may not have 2 showers in them) as well as double sinks.

Other in-room amenities include a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, Smart TV with streaming abilities, a dining nook, and some rooms include balconies.

Property Amenities:

If the in-room amenities aren’t enough of a draw, the hotel has a Bistro which serves delicious eats AND Starbucks coffee.

You can find a gift shop and small marketplace also available for guests.

Of course, the biggest amenity is Surfside Waterpark. The waterpark has 2 30-foot slides (40-inch height requirement), an outdoor pool, a hot tub that seats 17, a water playground with additional slides, a wading pool, and a splash pad. You can also view the Disneyland Fireworks from areas in the waterpark. It is, in my opinion, the best hotel pool area near Disneyland.

While I rarely mention the gyms at hotels in these reviews (because our workouts are walking miles and miles at Disneyland) the gym at Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park entrance is spacious, clean, and has tons of equipment to help you meet your workout goals.

Things To Know About This Hotel:

All parking at this hotel is Valet Parking. Please check the current pricing when booking. On departure day, guests may use the parking until 4 pm before being charged an additional day’s fee.

As well as Valet Parking, this hotel has Electrical Vehicle Charging available for an additional fee. At the time of this article, it is $10 per charge.

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is a great fit for families of 5-6 people, who want to enjoy the resort property in addition to Disneyland. The hotel has put a lot of thought into what to include to make for a great stay and it shows.

Holiday Inn Express and Suites Anaheim

This is the first Anaheim Hotel on this list that is not technically on Harbor Blvd, but is just as close. Located right behind the Courtyard on South Manchester, The Holiday Inn Express and Suites is a great option for families who have 6 and want a free hot breakfast included with their stay.

While this hotel is very close to the freeway, most of the guests from my Disneyland Facebook group have said it is pretty quiet.

Hotel Overview

The standard rooms in this hotel include 2 queen beds and a sofa bed, sleeping up to 6 guests. The hotel is clean and has great amenities.

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites is an IHG Hotel, so if you are a member of that rewards program, it is a great pick.

Walking Distance To Park:

Guests of this hotel can get to the parks in a short 10-12 minute walk, if not faster.

In-Room Amenities:

Rooms at this hotel offer a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.

The rooms also sleep 6 with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa.

Photo Courtesy Holiday Inn Express And Suites

Property Amenities:

The property also offers an outdoor pool, hot tub, gym, and probably the most important to many guests… Free Hot Breakfast!

Things To Know About This Hotel:

The hotel offers both self-parking and valet parking, for fees. Check the price of parking when booking.

This hotel is also listing that there is an additional charge for each adult after the first two. This is becoming popular among hotels, and I expect more Anaheim hotels will be adopting this model soon.

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is great for families who want to be close, need to sleep larger families, but also want a free hot breakfast.

Hilton Home2 Suites

Next door to the Holiday Inn is Hilton Home2 Suites (which is adjoined to our next hotel – Hilton Garden Inn). If you are a Hilton loyal, and want free breakfast and extended stay amenities, this hotel is for you.

Hotel Overview

Hilton Home2 Suites is a new hotel, located behind Courtyard and Fairfield on Manchester, but still as close as many of the actual Harbor Blvd Hotels.

The lobby is spacious and bright. There is a market where guests can purchase food items, etc.

Walking Distance To Park:

This hotel is a 10-12 minute walk to the parks.

In-Room Amenities:

Rooms are clean, well thought out, and designed for guests planning longer stays.

The guest rooms offer kitchens with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, basic dishes, and the ability to ask for a countertop range and pots and pans from housekeeping.

Connecting rooms are available.

Property Amenities:

The property offers an included breakfast for guests staying on the Home2 side as well as a pool, hot tub, and gym.

For pet lovers, there are pet-friendly rooms available (additional fees may apply).

Things To Know About This Hotel:

This hotel is adjoined to the Hilton Garden Inn, and they share a lobby, pool and hot tub.

All parking is valet. Check the pricing of parking when booking.

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is great for families who like to prepare their own food during travel, want free breakfast, or just a little more room to spread out.

Hilton Garden Inn

The Hilton Garden Inn is adjoined to the Home2 Suites. While the two hotels share a lobby and some of the on-site amenities, there are notable differences. This is the final Manchester hotel that we are including in this list.

Hotel Overview

This hotel is new and very modern. The lobby (shared with Home2) is bright and airy. The Hilton Garden Inn is also a pet-friendly property.

In-Room Amenities:

Property Amenities:

The hotel shares most amenities with Home2, including the outdoor pool, hot tub, and gym.

One thing that this hotel does NOT offer is the free breakfast available to Home2 guests.

Instead, you can utilize the small onsite market to purchase food.

Things To Know About This Hotel:

All parking at this hotel is valet parking. Verify pricing when booking this hotel.

The hotel is also close to the freeway and you may hear freeway noise from your room depending on location.

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is great for couples or small families who want a newer hotel, or specifically want to stay at a Hilton but do not need the kitchen or free breakfast. A great option for those who plan to eat every meal in the parks.

Fairfield Inn

The Fairfield Inn by Marriott is a great option for those looking to stay at a hotel close to Disneyland with clean rooms and great amenities, but are on a bit of a budget.

This hotel is a great option if you also want to add a little Disney magic as it offers a limited number of themed rooms.

Hotel Overview

Fairfield Inn is located on Harbor Blvd, next door to Courtyard. While both are Marriott properties, it is important to note that this hotel does not share amenities with the Courtyard.

Fairfield Inn is a clean hotel. One thing to note is that the rooms are motel-style, meaning they open to the outside walkway instead of to interior halls. This can make the noise an issue for some because other guests often tend to speak quieter when they are in an interior hallway compared to outside walkways.

Walking Distance To Park:

This hotel is an 8-10 minute walk to Disneyland.

In-Room Amenities:

The guest rooms in the Fairfield Inn are clean, and include a refrigerator and coffee maker. While the rooms do not have microwaves in them, on a recent tour, I noted there is a common area with a guest microwave.

The rooms also include a twin-size sleeper chair. This means that 2 queen rooms can sleep up to 5 guests, and king rooms may sleep up to 3 guests.

Property Amenities:

The property includes an outdoor pool, hot tub, dining options, and more.

For our Marriott regulars, it is important to note that this Fairfield Inn DOES NOT offer free breakfast.

Things To Know About This Hotel:

Parking at this hotel is $24/night BUT you get free parking when you book through my partners at Get Away Today.

This hotel is also set behind Panera as another food option.

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is great for families of 5 or fewer, who will not spend a ton of time in their rooms, but still want comfortable, clean rooms, as well as a fridge, to keep snacks. With the free parking through Get Away Today, it is also a great option for road trippers who don’t want to pay nightly parking fees.

Camelot Inn & Suites

Moving South, and slightly closer to Disneyland’s main entrance on Harbor Blvd, the Camelot Inn & Suites offers a fun themed option for families. Some would call this hotel castle themed, while I think it mimics the theming of Fantasyland with a Europan village feel.

Camelot Inn hotel across the street from Disneyland on S Harbor Blvd

While a bit dated, this hotel is clean, and the rooms are spacious with suites that fit larger groups.

Hotel Overview

This hotel is a bit dated, but the rooms are clean and spacious. While this hotel would not be for everyone, those who usually stay in Best Western Plus (in other locations), and even some Sheratons and such, will find this hotel up to par.

The theming is a big draw for this hotel, as well as the location.

Many you would think moving two doors down would not be a big deal.

Those with young kids that are not using a stroller at Disneyland know that every step counts at the end of the night.

Walking Distance To Park:

This hotel is a 6-8 minute walk to Disneyland.

In-Room Amenities:

The rooms at this hotel offer a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The hotel also offers a 1 king, 2 queens, and sofa sleeper suite which sleeps up to 7 people.

Photo Courtesy Camelot Inn and Suites

Property Amenities:

One of the best amenities at this Harbor Blvd Hotel is it is the only one on this list that has what some might consider a rooftop pool. It is located on the 4th floor, and it offers a view of the Disneyland fireworks on select nights.

Things To Know About This Hotel:

Again, while dated, and in my opinion – a bit dark, this hotel is very clean and I have heard from many friends that the front desk staff is extremely kind and helpful.

This hotel does charge for parking, so be sure to verify the cost when booking.

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is great for those who need larger rooms, are on a budget, and also those who don’t want to stay in the parks all night, but still want to watch fireworks.

Tropicana Inn & Suites

Tropicana Inn & Suites is one of the closest hotels to Disneyland. While this hotel is dated, and motel-style, the rooms have had a refresh and are clean and bright. The hotel is definitely a favorite among guests who plan to spend most of their time in the parks.

Hotel Overview

This hotel offers a super close lodging option, with clean and bright rooms, a gift shop, and more. The outside is dated, and the parking is right outside of the first-floor rooms, very much like a roadside hotel. This can add to the noise.

The pool is also located in the middle of the parking lot, which some guests may not enjoy.

Walking Distance To Park:

This hotel is a 3-5 minute walk to Disneyland’s gates, depending on the wait for the crosswalk.

In-Room Amenities:

Each room has a mini fridge and microwave for guests to use, as well as a coffee maker. Rooms are also equipt with either a sofa bed or sleeper chair.

Property Amenities:

The hotel offers an outdoor pool and hot tub.

Things To Know About This Hotel:

This hotel charges for parking. At the time of publishing, the first car is $22/night and an additional car is $29/night. (Please check rates when booking.)

Guests have noted that the beds are a bit firm.

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is great for those who want to be super close to the parks, and want a clean updated room, but do not need free breakfast, a fancy pool area, or other upscale amenities.

Best Western Plus Park Place Inn Mini Suites

Best Western Plus Park Place Inn Mini Suites is located across the street from Disneyland, literally. It is the closest hotel on this list to the pedestrian crosswalk to access the Harbor Blvd Entrance. (But only a tiny bit closer than Tropicana.)

Because of this, I, and many of my readers and Facebook Group members, realize that they know they do not have to “keep up with the Marriotts” so to speak.

Location. Location. Location.

That is not to say this hotel won’t be a good fit for you, but I want to make sure your expectations won’t leave you ready for disappointment.

Confession – I love how Best Western has been stepping up their game in recent years, and I often stay at Best Westerns when traveling… just not when traveling to Disneyland, because of what I mentioned above.

I have however toured the Best Westerns in the area, including their rooms. The info on the two Best Western properties on the list will be based on those tours, and guest reviews available online.

Hotel Overview

This hotel is extremely dated but clean. The location of the hotel seems to be the reason for them to not feel the need to update the property, even though several new properties are just a few doors down to compete with.

This hotel is super close, and sometimes that is the most important factor for guests.

Walking Distance To Park:

This hotel is a 3-5 minute walk to Disneyland Park Gates, depending on the crosswalk wait time.

Photo Courtesy Best Western PLUS Park Place Inn & Suites

In-Room Amenities:

The rooms in this hotel offer 2 doubles, 2 queens, or 2 queens and sofa bed mini suites.

All rooms include a mini fridge and microwave.

Property Amenities:

This property offers a very basic continental breakfast. Think cereal, toast/bagels, and maybe some fruit.

The hotel also has an outdoor pool and a covered hot tub.

Photo Courtesy Best Western PLUS Park Place Inn

Things To Know About This Hotel:

While it is super close to Disneyland, amazingly, this hotel has one of the most affordable parking fees on the street. Parking at time of this publishing is $15/night (verify cost when booking).

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is a great option for families who really just care about proximity to the parks, and may need a room that sleeps up to 6 people. It is definitely dated, offers minimal breakfast but enough that you can not worry about buying a morning meal in the parks.

Photo Courtesy Best Western PLUS Park Place Inn

If you are used to staying at nicer Super 8’s in other areas (not near Disneyland), I would say this is on par with those hotels. However, I do not find it to be on par with the majority of Best Westerns that you will find in other locations.

Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn

Just a few doors down is another Best Western property. The Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn. This hotel is close to Disneyland, with basic rooms, and a few often sought amenities.

Hotel Overview

Much like the previous Best Western, the Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn has one of the best locations. With that, they realize that they do not “need” to keep up with the other hotels in the area.

It is a very basic hotel, dated, but clean. The beds are not very comfortable (in my opinion) but they are good enough.

Walking Distance To Park:

This hotel is a short 3-5 minute walk to Disneyland Resort’s parks.

In-Room Amenities:

In-room amenities are a bonus for this hotel as every room offers a mini fridge and microwave.

Photo Courtesy Best Western PLUS Anaheim Inn

Most rooms sleep 4 guests, with two queen beds.

Property Amenities:

The property offers a super basic continental breakfast, which can be a plus for travelers who just want a quick bite in the morning.

Additional property amenities include an outdoor pool, hot tub, and laundry facilites.

Things To Know About This Hotel:

This hotel is very basic, but because of its location, can come at a premium price. You will often see prices over $250/night (though you can save when booking through my partners at Get Away Today with code ThisCrazy10 – 2+ night stay required)

If the brand is not a major selling factor for you, I personally would look more to Tropicana or Fairfield for a more updated room at a similar price.

Photo Courtesy Best Western PLUS Anaheim Inn

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is great for those who want to be as close to the parks as possible, need a basic room, and do not plan on spending a lot of time in their room.

Grand Legacy At The Park

Grand Legacy is a boutique hotel with a rooftop restaurant and bar, The FIFTH, and comfortable, clean, rooms that guests will enjoy.

Hotel Overview

Grand Legacy has been a long-time favorite of guests who want a boutique hotel experience, at a great price, and want a hotel close to Disneyland Resort.

This hotel offers standard amenities, like free wifi, anywhere from a standard room, to luxury rooms with fireworks views. They even offer their Legacy Suites which are 2-room or 3-room suites, offering more room to spread out.

Note – this property is “motel style” with exterior room entry.

I just learned that this hotel will be upgrading many of their classic rooms in 2023! How exciting!

Walking Distance To Park:

This hotel is a quick 3-5 minute walk to the park.

In-Room Amenities:

Their comfortable rooms include mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffee makers.

The classic rooms offer 2 double beds, while premier rooms offer 2 queens.

As I noted above, in 2023, many of the classic rooms will be upgraded/remodeled and turned into premier rooms.

Premier Room, Photo Courtesy Grand Legacy at the Park

Property Amenities:

The hotel offers views of Disneyland Fireworks, a zero entry-level pool, and laundry options.

Things To Know About This Hotel:

The FIFTH often plays live music, and this can add to the noise at the property.

Photo Courtesy Grand Legacy at the Park

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is great for those who want to be close to the parks, and have a boutique hotel, but also need to save money.

You can often find deals on this hotel through Get Away Today or on the hotel website.

Honestly, this hotel on harbor blvd across from Disneyland is a great fit for most families.

The Anaheim Hotel

The Anaheim Hotel is located across the street from Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! and is a great option for families who want an affordable hotel, with dining options, and some extra amenities.

Hotel Overview

The Anaheim Hotel is an older hotel. It has multiple buildings, all 2 stories, and they have an exterior entry, but kind of an indoor feel (room doors face the rooms across, and there is a covered walkway.

The hotel does not have elevators, but there is a ramp on one side of every building and a set of stairs on the opposite side.

Some rooms have a full balcony, with colored walls, which have become a favorite of those looking for a cute Instagram photo.

While the rooms say they are “updated” I would consider them more of redecorated. The rooms remind me of a Super 8 or Motel 6 that has changed the decor and maybe painted.

Where this hotel wins is really the amenities offered on-site, including the pool, dining options, and more.

Walking Distance To Park:

Extra day free Disneyland ticket deal. Click to book

This hotel is a 5-7 minute walk to Disneyland Park.

In-Room Amenities:

The guest rooms in the Anaheim Hotel on Harbor Blvd across from Disneyland, include coffee makers and mini-fridges BUT there are no microwaves in the rooms.

Most rooms have 2 Queen beds, but they do offer some larger suites and rooms.

Property Amenities:

One great thing about this hotel is that it has some great amenities.

The Anaheim Hotel has an Olympic size swimming pool, with pool side service during certain hours of the day. They also will have live DJs or show movies in the pool area in the evenings during the busy season.

The poolside service is from The Front Room lounge inside of the lobby.

In addition to the lounge, the lobby has access to an indoor entrance to the attached restaurant, The Pizza Press.

Things To Know About This Hotel:

This hotel has valet parking, and there is also electric vehicle charging with ChargePoint available. You will need your own charge point account. The max charging time allowed is 4 hours per charge.

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is good for those who will spend most of their time at the parks or lounging by the pool. The on-site dining makes it a great fit for families who may not want to eat in the parks but don’t have a car.

If you are on a budget, and care about a clean room, and great pool, this hotel is a great fit.

Castle Inn and Suites

Castle Inn and Suites is the last on our list of Harbor Blvd Hotels across from Disneyland. This hotel has a unique history, and some rare perks! If you book this hotel through my partners Get Away Today, you can receive a 4th night free (subject to availability).

Hotel Overview

Castle Inn and Suites is a family-owned property, owned by the son of the man who built it. As such, there is a lot of history and nostalgia at this property.

The hotel is motel style, and while a bit dated, is EXTREMELY clean.

I remember touring this hotel after the long closure, seeing the vents, and noticing not a speck of dust on them. Other hotels still had cleaning to do, but you could tell the owners had taken great pride in keeping up the hotel, even during the long closure.

Photo of front of Castle Inn and Suites a hotel on harbor blvd across from Disneyland

Kids and adults alike will love the castle theme of the hotel, the throne, suit or armor, and stained glass window in the lobby, and the blazing-fast internet.

Walking Distance To Park:

Castle Inn and Suites is a short 8-10 minute walk to Disneyland Resort.

In-Room Amenities:

Each room has a fridge and microwave, as well as a coffee maker. Again, Castle Inn and Suites has the fastest internet connection in their rooms I have seen. This is a great perk for a hotel across from Disneyland whenever a virtual queue system is in use.

The hotel has 2 queen rooms and family suites offering 1 king and 2 queens in a room.

Picture of a room at Castle Inn and suites with 2 queen beds. Hotel on harbor blvd across the street from Disneyland.

Property Amenities:

Property amenities include FREE PARKING (the only one of these hotels to offer this to ALL guests, not just as a Get Away Today Perk), a swimming pool and hot tub, on-site laundry, and a coffee shop.

Things To Know About This Hotel:

The pool and hot tub for this hotel are in the middle of the parking lot, so that may be a concern for some guests. However, the parking is away from street view.

Who This Hotel Is Good For:

This hotel is a great fit for those who want to be close, with a themed castle, and want the luxury of free parking and fast internet.

This is a go-to hotel for road trippers because of the free parking.

This hotel is also one of the best-priced options on this list, if not THE BEST.
